It's been a long time between drinks.
In fact, I haven't written much on this blog in a month of Sundays. Anyway, I have decided to put the odd update on here to give some form of entertainment.
I have a couple of horses today but not confident they will be winning but should run a race.
3:05 Newmarket -
First Lott ran a fair race on debut at Goodwood when a big price. I very much doubt connections expected much but she ran on well giving the impression this step up in distance would suit. This looks a tough race so I will be hoping for a place and perhaps need to get lucky for the win. This daughter of Harbour Watch is well bred out of a Listed winner. At odds of 8/1, has fair claims.
3:45 Newmarket -
With the favourite Megallan a non-runner, this race is a little less competitive and Richard Hannon's Marlay Park ran well on debut behind the talented Minzaal who followed up in the Gimcrack Stakes. Marley Park led until collard by Owen Burrow's star and held the rest of the field at arm's length.
Stepping up in distance shouldn't be a problem if settling and a horse that may well try to lead all the way. At 10/3 this son of Cable Bay has each-way claims.
First Lott (8/1)
Marlay Park (10/3)
